Once the boys went to get some wild strawberries and did not take me along. Of course, I went crazy mad and did everything forbidden in spite. I went to the pond and climbed onto the long plank-way where women sometimes rinsed clothes. Then I went to the very end of the plank-way, sat down and started to sing loudly “Behind the river I grew up” so that everyone in Bebrene can hear that I am angry with my brothers.
